"I have participated in many IT events over the years and found that the CIO Forum was a unique event in that it focuses on pragmatic discussions of real IT issues. The mix of Commercial, State and Federal Government IT leaders provides multiple views and approaches to critical issues facing IT managers."

The CIO Forum and Executive IT Conference was excellent The sessions had very high level content and were "vendor neutral", which I consider a real plus. I would highly recommend this conference.

The conference provides a great opportunity to network with and learn from other leaders who have experience in addressing several of today's most significant issues. Specifically, in the past several months, I incorporated several of the learnings from the conference into my organization's IT Strategic Planning process.

"Thank you for including the Philadelphia SIM organization in the CIO Forum. I have received an overwhelmingly positive response from our members. The timely topics were well presented and the entire event was well executed. After knowing you for so many years, I expected the finest and was once again impressed by your ability to pull together a top notch event. I especially enjoyed getting together in a small group setting with the advisory council."

"The CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit is an excellent opportunity to network and discuss pertinent topics with other CIOs while hearing from experts in the field on current technologies."

- DianahNeff, Chief Information Officer,

City of Philadelphia

"The 2002 CIO Forum provided an outstanding opportunity for me to hear about current technology topics, especially security. as an educator, it's important to keep abreast with technology and to learn what industry is doing. As a member of SIM, I appreciated the opportunity to network with other technology and management leaders. I found the vendor exhibits to be well chosen and highly pertinent to the seminars. Overall, it was an outstanding event !"

-Margaret M. McManus, Ph.D. Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences,

La Salle University-SIM Member

"The Lockheed Martin Management & Data Systems Information Office included the conference as part of a week long staff offsite activity and comments from our team indicate that the subject matter, speakers, and vendor exhibits were extremely relevant to the IT questions and challenges we address on a daily basis."

-Bill Bauerle, CIO, Lockheed Martin

"I found the CIO Forum different from other conferences. It successfully brought together technology and business representatives from varied sectors of the tri-state business community to interact, share and learn new perspectives on technology topics and challenges. The value of meeting and interacting with the other attendees has been ongoing, making the return on the time I invested just outstanding".

-Ed Solarz, Partner, SolvIT Consulting Group LLC-SIM Member

"As the person moves up on the IT management pyramid, the peer group interaction grows exponentially in importance and decreases even faster in opportunities. For one, time becomes limiting factor, there are not that many people in the local region on the same level who are available and accessible for interaction. Still, communication with peers is critical as complexity, far reach, cost, and overall effect on the organization is monumental from decisions made on the high IT management level. Ability to exchange experiences, avoid mistakes, minimize risk, get a fresh view is priceless - yet opportunity is lacking. Personally, I was always on the lookout for the appropriate group / event for such interaction to learn, improve myself, and bring more value to my company. What I found were pretty solid groups and gatherings, but because they usually attracted people representing various levels in technology and management, it was very unlikely to stumble on someone who would possess unique overviews / perspectives on Technology and Business expected from CIOs. This year I was lucky. First ComputerWorld TOP 100 Leaders Conference, that brought together prominent IT leaders from US and other countries, second was the CIO Forum and Executive IT Summit in Philadelphia which was similar but on the local level, and the third was the SIM organization, which provides on-going top IT Management level interaction, education, and community. Each of the three above has unique qualities and in my opinion is an absolute must for any serious IT leader."

-Val Boyarsky, Director of IS, Delaware River Port Authority

"Thinking back on this event, it was extremely worthwhile. The presentations on business continuity and computer security were most appreciated. Individual speakers were intelligent and informative."

-Karl Bortnick, IT Director, City of Philadelphia

"I was impressed with the CIO Forum and Executive IT Summit held in Philadelphia. It was a great opportunity to meet and network with the other CIO's in the Philly area. The speakers at the seminar sessions on a whole were great, the meeting facilities and arrangements worked well. The vendor exhibits and vendor participation was very well orchestrated, allowing us to interact and learn from them without a lot of sales pressure. All in all a well run conference, I believe we in the Phila SIM chapter will find more opportunities to work with you to make next years event even better."

-Gene Stiefel-SIM Member

"Excellent mix of topics and an enthusiastic crowd made this a 'must do' yearly event. I'll certainly encourage my contacts to repeat in the coming years."

-Robert A. Lahr, Director of Information Infrastructure-Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

"This "Premier" conference lived up to its adjective. Content matched the CIO Advisory Council top five issues list and the exhibits were informative beyond the "booth presence." Furthermore, the discussions that hovered around the conference were business focused with the impression that we were dealing within the correct personal network. I can't imagine a conference hitting the mark any better..."

-Ralph Menzano, CIO, SEPTA

"The 2002 CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit was an excellent opportunity to review technology capabilities of premier vendors, attend informative and thought provoking sessions from first-class presenters and network with the cream of the crop from the Philadelphia area's IT community. Obviously a very well planned and executed event. Looking forward to next year."

-Gary Senese, Area Managing Partner, Tatum CIO Partners, LLP

"The 2002 CIO Forum was very well done. Marc DiFrancisco and his staff did a remarkable job putting together this event, particularly in view of the fact that this was their first year. The seminars included relevant topics for senior technology managers, and the speakers I listened to were quite good. Also, the vendor exhibits were well chosen, and limited, for the most part, to mainstream companies that most of us use in one capacity or another. Overall, it was a very worthwhile event, and one I would definitely plan to attend, next year."

-Laurence A. Liss, Chief Technology Officer, Blank Rome Comisky & McCauley LLP-SIM Member

"I thought that the CIO Forum was FANTASTIC. Not only were the educational sessions timely and invaluable, but the Exhibitor Expo was outstanding. Despite having attended numerous national conferences, I never knew we had so many rich and competent vendors right here in the Delaware Valley. To a person, they were competent and very responsive. In fact, I have had more follow-up discussions in the month since the conference than any prior conference I attended. Not only was I contacted, but I was offered access to the precise resources that I needed, not just irrelevant information or a cold call from a distant sales rep. Well done! I hope that this becomes a permanent event in the Delaware Valley.

-Elliot Sloane
