The Florida Electronic Evidence Team is a key component of the Orlando Electronic Crimes Task Force which has grown from a few dedicated individuals to a large group of industry security investigators, scholars doing research and education in electronic evidence as well as local, state and federal law enforcement members throughout central Florida. In response to a Congressional mandate, the U.S. Secret Service is forming new regional task forces throughout the country and thousands of law enforcement, government and industry techno specialists are now networking to help prevent and when necessary, prosecute these new kinds of crimes. The USSS - Orlando Field Office will host their quarterly ECTF meeting in concert with the annual SIM conference. Speakers from the USSS will present on topics including network intrusion investigations and insider threat studies relative to the banking and finance and also the IT sectors.
The mission of International GMIS is to provide an organizational structure and network with associated activities, which may be used by all State, County, and Local government agencies and educational institutions which are members in order to help them in their information and automation endeavors and with associated projects and problems.
