  Andy Wing

Andy Wing began his IT career at First National Bank, Mobile, Al over 30 years ago in the programming arena. He continued to expand his responsibilities progressively through the ABA Systems Analyst courses and then to Team Leader with entry level people reporting to his group for Payroll Systems. The Payroll system was successfully modified to meet the requirements for the General Contractor that built the “new” Mobile Tunnel, which allowed the bank to acquire all deposit functions for the General Contractor. FNB also sold their Payroll System to Southeast Bank in Miami and Andy was responsible for training and implementation for Southeast.
Andy moved to Orlando in 1973 after joining Burroughs (UNISYS) as a system support engineer. While continuing to grow at Burroughs he was promoted into a sales position concentrating in the financial banking arena. He progressed to Account Manager responsible for Main Frame account management with a team of sales and engineering support people as direct reports.
He has continued his career in IT sales management including one “start up” company for the automotive after-market. For the past seven years he has concentrated in the Staff Augmentation industry with special attention to the Quality Assurance (QA) and Program Management Office (PMO) adhering to the CMM Model with Aquent, LLC.
Andy was the co-founder of the SIM Chapter of Central Florida, and is especially proud of the role he played in establishing the Endowed Scholarship for UCF’s College of Engineering and Computer Science. He served as President of the chapter for three years, and is Past-President of Valencia Community College’s Alumni Association and served on Valencia’s Foundation Board for four years. He played a pivotal role in establishing the IT Consortium for O-Force and served as that group’s first vice-chair.
The Society for Information Management (SIM) is a non-profit professional organization whose mission is to help groom tomorrow's CIOs and IT executives. The membership is comprised of IT executives from industry, academia and government. Our annual conference draws some 250 - 300 participants from around the State of Florida. Earlier this year, we endowed a scholarship for the UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science. By the way, you can get more information on the conference at www.premiertce.com; click on Orlando 2004, "Conference at a Glance."
Andy has a Bachelor of Science, Liberal Studies, from the University of Central where he was President's List or Dean's List each term, and an Associate in Arts degree from Valencia Community College, Phi Theta Kappa.
