Mr. Albert retired from the Air Force in 1998 after 20 years of directing several of the nation’s largest information technology programs and communications centers. He was also responsible for numerous worldwide research and development efforts to advance the state-of-the-art in high-speed supercomputing, networks and space technologies. Further, he taught for three years at the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. His last role in the Air Force was as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter to the White House and Secretary of Defense on defense and information technology programs and issues.
Since his retirement, Jim has been Chief Information Officer at Bristol Hospital in his hometown of Bristol, Connecticut. He is currently Vice-President and Chief Information Officer for Masonicare, headquartered in Wallingford Connecticut, the largest post-acute health system in Connecticut and largest Masonic healthcare organization in the country.
Mr. Albert holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Univ. of Connecticut in Risk Management and a Master’s Degree in Technology Management from The American University in Washington, DC. He's the former President of the Central Connecticut Chapter of the Society for Information Management, Chairman of the Long-Term and Post-Acute Care Special Interest Group of the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a Past-President of the Franco-American Club of Bristol and past member of the Rotary Clubs of Lowell and Bedford, Mass. He is married with two daughters attending college in Houston, Texas and Boston.

David Sagers is the Vice President of Information and Learning Technologies for the Housing Authority Insurance Group. HAI Group provides insurance, risk management and educational services to the public and affordable housing market. Dave is responsible for information technology strategy and delivery, as well as developing HAI Group’s e-learning business.
During his 21 years in IT, Dave has acquired a wide range of experience. He spent 7 years at Pratt and Whitney (PWA), progressing through traditional system analysis, project management and people management. From there, he broke free and established a training and consulting practice for a small IT consulting company. This launched him into the next phase of his career, working independently as a trainer, curriculum developer and consultant. In 2001, he realized that what he most liked doing would be found in management, and joined the HAI Group as its MIS Director. During these last 6 years, he has taken on increasing levels of responsibility, joining the executive team in developing the company’s business strategy, and growing the company’s web-based e-learning business.
Dave graduated from Trinity College with a BA in English, and received his MBA at RPI (Hartford Graduate Center). In his free time, he is married and herding three small children (ages 8, 7 and 5). In his other free time, in addition to his involvement with the SIM Central Connecticut chapter, he is involved in the Relay of Life for West Hartford, Boy Scouts of America, and the Vermont Captive Insurance Association.
