SIM is the professional society most influential in enhancing the education, legislation, and leadership skills essential to globally optimize IT effectiveness and business performance.

SIM Mission
SIM is a community of senior IT executives, prominent academicians, consultants, and other IT thought leaders, who come together to share and enhance their rich intellectual capital, through its local chapters and international offerings.

SIM and its members strongly believe in and champion:

  • The integration of IT and business as a valued partnership ensuring Business & IT alignment
  • The effective and efficient business use of information technology to continuously bring to market valuable products and services
  • IT Management and Leadership Skills Development that enable the effective delivery of Business Value
  • The replenishment and education of future IT leaders
  • Policies and legislation that stimulate innovation, economic development and IT job creation
Central Connecticut Chapter Description and Purpose:
The Central Connecticut Chapter of SIM is comprised of over 100 senior IT executives from across Central Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Our members hail from widely differing industries, skill sets and corporate sizes. Approximately 80% of our members are practicing senior technologists (CIOs, Directors of IT, etc.) and 20% are from supporting organizations.

The purpose of our Chapter is to:

  • Provide networking opportunities across the region for Senior IT Executives to share best practices, plans and issues with other Senior IT Executives in an informal setting.
  • Provide educational programs to keep our membership informed of changing best practice and state-of-the-art data and telecommunications technologies.
  • Inform and encourage the Central Connecticut & Western Massachusetts community at large to consider or advance their careers in areas related to Information Systems and Technology.
