BREAKOUT SESSION: “STORAGE VIRTUALIZATION WITHIN A SERVICE ORIENTED FRAMEWORK”
Moderated by: Hubert Yoshida, Hitachi Data Systems, VP & CTO,
Panelists: Kep Disney, Storage Architect, Greenville Hospital System
James Kluttz, CTO, Novant Health, Inc.
Business Problem: Storage virtualization as a function of managing complex storage environments and exponential data growth.
IT Solution: Storage virtualization within a services oriented framework for managing dynamic storage environments.
Discussion: Nowhere is the exponential growth of data felt more acutely than in the world of enterprise storage. In fact, the growth of storage budgets now threatens to eclipse the growth of an organization's overall IT budget. Instead of continuing to add more storage systems and significantly more management complexity, a more cost-effective, sustainable approach is required. That new approach is a Services Oriented Approach to storage. This session will offer Services Oriented Storage Solution (SOSS), a strategy for overall management of dynamic storage environments.
