Technology The Atlanta area chapter of the Society for Information Management is a "by-invitation" organization of senior Information Managers and practitioners experienced in both information systems and general management. SIM members represent a range of organizations, including business, consulting, and academic. The SIM Atlanta is a chartered non-profit chapter of SIM international which has 30 chapters and over 3,000 members.
SIM Atlanta's Mission
Provide leadership and education in the successful management and use of information technology to achieve business objectives through:
- Providing a forum for creating and disseminating knowledge for/to IT professional.
- Being the voice of the IT professional.
- Building the capability of the IT professional by providing high-quality programs, speakers and resources.
- Developing close working relationships with academic members.
- Recognizing excellence in the management and use of information technology and technical education.

The Atlanta Chapter of BDPA was founded in1981 by a group of dedicated African American IT professionals. The chapter was founded to improve networking opportunities and increase the technological awareness of it‘s members through educational programs. The Atlanta Chapter exists to serve its members and the community. Our Mission: Atlanta BDPA’s is to bridge the digital divide in the Metro Atlanta area by providing training, support and networking opportunities to all people, technical and non-technical. Our offerings includes a high school computer competition (HSCC) training program and training for members & the community.
